Hmmm... but what does that mean ??? well according to This ... it means your picture is "... extremely resistant to people wanting to get rid of it", :)

The Sunflowers
by: Mary Oliver
"Come with me
into the field of sunflowers.
Their faces are burnished disks,
their dry spines
creak like ship masts,
their green leaves,
so heavy and many,
fill all day with the sticky
sugars of the sun.
Come with me
to visit the sunflowers,
they are shy
but want to be friends;
they have wonderful stories
of when they were young -
the important weather,
the wandering crows.
Don't be afraid
to ask them questions!
Their bright faces,
which follow the sun,
will listen, and all
those rows of seeds -
each one a new life!
hope for a deeper acquaintance;
each of them, though it stands
in a crowd of many,
like a separate universe,
is lonely, the long work
of turning their lives
into a celebration
is not easy. Come
and let us talk with those modest faces,
the simple garments of leaves,
the coarse roots in the earth
so uprightly burning. "
Emperor Humayun's Tomb, Delhi - India
It was my long cherished wish to visit Delhi (Capital of India) to pay my respect to the tomb of Mughal Emperor Humayun, from whom I have got my own name.
The Reign of Humayun, 1530-1556
Babur's eldest son and successor, Humayun, was 22 years old when his father passed away. Humayun lacked the experience and the tough fiber necessary to consolidate a new dynasty. Thus, the first decade of his rule brought a steady erosion of Mughal authority in northern India. In particular, Humayun had to deal with the determined hostility of the Afghans who were still allied with the dispossessed Lodi regime.
Humayun was defeated and dislodged by insurrections of nobles from the old Lodi regime. In 1540, the Mughal domain came under the control of one of those nobles, Farid Khan Sur, who assumed the regional name of Shir Shah Sur. Humayun would spend the next 15 years in exile in Sind, Iran, and then Afghanistan. During this exile, Humayun's Persian wife, Hamida Begum, a native of Turbat-I Shaykh Jam in Khurasan, gave birth to the future emperor Akbar.
Humayun died in 1556, and his widow Hamida Banu Begam, also known as Haji Begam.
An architectural forerunner of the Taj Mahal, Haji Banu Begum commenced the construction of his tomb in 1569, fourteen years after his death. It is the first distinct example of proper Mughal style, which was inspired by Persian architecture.
Its arched entrances and bulbous dome are surrounded by lovely formal gardens, making it one of the most beautiful Mughal buildings in the city Delhi.
Haji Banu Begum too is buried here.
Mirak Mirza Ghiyath, a Persian, was the architect employed by Haji Begam for this tomb.

Always stay in touch with Yourself
You've no idea how hard I've looked for a gift to bring You.
Nothing seemed right. What's the point of bringing gold
to the gold mine, or water to the Ocean. Everything I came
up with was like taking spices to the Orient. It's no good
giving my heart and my soul because you already have these.
So- I've brought you a mirror. Look at yourself and
remember me.

Abstract Dreams!
A step into surrealism but this is real, Louize sitting on the promenade at Hastings on the Sussex coast scanned in from a slide and using a diffuser filter helped with that surreal feel also a 19mm wide angle lens with a linear polarizer filter tilted upwards!

THE UNFAITHFUL WIFE
(river replaced with beach)
I took her to the beach
Believing she was a virgin
But she had a husband.
It was the night of Saint James and almost as promised
The street lamps extinguished as the crickets lit up
In the far corners I touched her sleeping nipples,
And suddenly they opened to me
Like a hyacinth branch.
The starch of her taffeta
Sounded in my ear like silk scratched by ten knives.
Without silver light on their crowns the trees had grown,
And an horizon of dogs barked very far from the river.
Beyond raspberry bushes, rushes and thorn shrubs,
Under her matted hair I hollowed out the mud.
I took off my tie.
She dropped her dress.
I unbuckled my gunbelt
She let fall her four laces.
Neither white petals nor snails have skin so fine
Nor moonlit crystals shine with her brilliance.
Her thighs escaped me like surprised fish,
Half filled with embers, half filled with ice.
That night I ran—best runner of all the roads,
Mounted on a pearly steed, neither saddle nor bridle.
As a man I can not tell the things she told me
Light of understanding makes me prudent.
Dirty with sand and with kisses
I took her away from the beach
The swords of the lilies flailed in the breezes.
I behaved as befit me, a genuine gypsy
I gave her a sewing basket of straw-colored silk
I refused to fall in love with her because she has a husband.
She said she was virgin when I took her to the beach.

(lumi zëvendësuar me det - nga unë)
Gruaja e pabesë
Dhe e shpura atë te deti
duke besuar se qe e virgjër
po ajo qënkësh e martuar.
Ishte nata e Santiagos
dhe sikur ta kishin bërë me fjalë
dritat e udhës zunë u zbehën
dhe bulkthit nisën të kuqëlojnë.
Matanë qoshes së fundit
preka gjijtë e saj të fjetur
dhe ata në çast m’u hapën
porsi heshtat e zymbylave.
Kolla e fustanit të saj
tringëllonte në veshët e mij
si copa të gjata mëndafshi
nga dhjetë gërshëra prerë.
Pemët u rritën pamasë
pa dritë argjendi në degë
dhe një horizont me qen
lehte tutje, shumë larg detit.
Atje pas ferrave
kallameve e gjembave
hoqa tutje baltën
nën tufën e flokëve të saj.
Hoqa kravatën time
ajo zhveshi rrobet
unë rripin e mesit me koburen
dhe ajo pjesët e korsesë.
As lulet dhe perlat
nuk kishin lëkurë më të bukur
dhe as me këtë brilancë
kristalet e hënës nuk shndrisnin.
Si peshq të trembur papritur
shkanë nga unë kofshët e saj
gjysma larë me akull
gjysma larë me zjarr.
Në udhën më të mirë
atë natë kalërova
hipur mbi një pelë sedefi
pa yzengji e kapistër.
Si burrë, nuk do t’i them
gjithato ç’më tha ajo,
drita e mirkuptimit
më bën mua më të përmbajtur.
Njollosur me rërë e puthje
e solla atë nga deti
teksa shpatat e lilave
fshikullonin lart ajrin.
Pastaj u solla siç jam
një cigan i vërtetë, sidoqoftë:
i dhashë asaj një shportë të thurur
prej atlasi ngjyrë kashte.
Po s’pranova ta dua më
se e martuar ishte
por më tha se ishte e virgjër
kur po e shpija te deti.

She...
She...
She sits hidden away in her room
Alone with her toys that
Kiss her and hold her tight
Turning turning dancing in the shadows
Trailing her hair in the dust
Catching patterns in the light...
She sees creatures behind the glass
Crying with a voice she heard
Once in a childhood dream
Falling through a window
She once shattered
Clawing her face to escape
Wings that beat inside her head...
She smiles down at the flowers and leaves
She saved for all those years now gone
Mingled with memory
Tears and laughter sharing hero's fanfare
Hidden away behind walls
Living on in candlelight...

I recently produced 70 new photos for my art practise, but because of the process of first taking the photographs then editing in Photoshop I find it hard to choose and edit the best images for my catalogue and portfolio. I find that I become too close to the work and therefore need others to have the final choice, often I find that the pictures I am not too keen on become the pictures with more votes. please choose comment and comment on your favourites in the set so that I can use it as a guideline. thanks.
Do you know what it is yet? Have a look at my website www.johngarghan.co.uk I promise you will never look at them (it) in the same way again
