Tortoise Point of View

Tortoise Point of View, originally uploaded by Collin Key.

Bergama (Pergamon), Turkey: The ancient Greek ruins of Pergamon from the turtles point of view. It is her place now.

A (perspectively) huge straw was splitting that poor animal right through the middle. Felt like a Sisyphus' task to reconstruct that shell's structure.

The ancient greek city of Pergamon is an impressiv site on nowadays turkish territory. Even more so from a turtle's point of view. For German's it does have an extra interest: The famous altar of Zeus (2nd century BC) is exhibited at the Pergamon Museum in Berlin and therefor missing at the original site. Turkish authorities claim from German authorities a Greek temple ... this is Europe, too.
